We are a team of volunteers helping churches in Australia partner with a sister church in Sumatra.

Sumatra has some of the most unreached people groups in the world on the doorstep of Australia. You may become part of this missionary work.

We have been involved with supporting church planting in Indonesia for over 10 years. Our desire is to show how Australian churches may financially support church planting in Sumatra, where mission is relational rather than organisational.

It costs less than $200 per month for churches in Sumatra to plant churches. Indonesia does not allow Christian missionaries into the country, and even so it would be a prohibitive cost.

Our goal is therefore with churches in Sumatra planting new churches, and help existing churches via their Team Sumatra members.

Team Sumatra is an indigenous mission team who consist of professional Christian businessmen, pastors and medical professionals with a heart to see God’s kingdom grow. They are personally responsible for planting 80 churches in Sumatra since 2005. They and their church planters know the language and culture, and are fully theologically trained without our visa issues.
